Steve hired me 5 years ago at the tire place... And the ST is my dream bike.. I was at the funeral, but it was a blur to me, I don't take things like that to well.
He now has another VTX; and you should ask him about his New bike--2006 Suzuki and fast.
Steve H.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20666162.post-1148127357297696902006-05-20T05:15:00.000-07:002006-05-20T05:15:00.000-07:00Jon,Thanks for the commnet and corrections. Did I see you at the funeral?

DanAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20666162.post-1148104715075553502006-05-19T22:58:00.000-07:002006-05-19T22:58:00.000-07:00Jon, I remember when Suzi Started riding; and how ...Jon,
I remember when Suzi Started riding; and how proud Steve was of her. Steve told me of her learning progress and she was a great rider for someone who hadn't been at it that long
As a friend of Suzi and Steve's I wanted to clairify a few facts on the accident. Suzi and Steve did do the RC-250, but it was the RC-500 ride that took her from us. They were both on their 2 new Honda VTX 1300's when the accident happened. Steve did put his kickstand down, but Susi's bike , riderless, bounced down the guardrail and struck his bike, Her beloved Shadow was at the funeral.
Steve is doing OK, Semi retired and managing the business. Last Saturday we both completed the RC-500, as a tribute to Suzi and because I hadn't finished the RC-2004 ride because a biker struck me.
Steve, Suzi, My Brother and I all did the 2003 RC-500; had a blast.
We still had some rides planned.
Thanks
PS; Give him a callAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20666162.post-1146159652356750942006-04-27T10:40:00.000-07:002006-04-27T10:40:00.000-07:00Jon,Thanks for dropping the comment and for the ki...Jon,
Thanks for dropping the comment and for the kind words. That's always the big question, isn't it? "Safe" vs. "Living". Since I have no idea of what my eventuality will be, I've chosen to live and love while I can. Not recklessly, nor timidly.

I'm sure at this point that Steven would rather not have had Suzy ride if it meant she would still be here. On the other hand, Suzy was full of life and it bubbled out all over. Steven's love for her wouldn't have allowed him to suppress her.

And around we go.

DanAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20666162.post-1146141325705180442006-04-27T05:35:00.000-07:002006-04-27T05:35:00.000-07:00DanThanks for your blogs - I enjoy reading them, a...Dan
Thanks for your blogs - I enjoy reading them, although "enjoy" is not quite the word for this one as it is very moving. I guess Steven would have questioned whether it would have been better if Suzy had not learned to ride in the first place, but being alive is a risk in itself and "life is for living".
JonAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20666162.post-1146101628221873612006-04-26T18:33:00.000-07:002006-04-26T18:33:00.000-07:00Steve,I didn't really set out to cover all the bas...Steve,

I didn't really set out to cover all the bases in this post. Looking at it in light of your comment, I do have a couple of "windows on the world". Motorcycling has been a big one for me. Maybe I should write a book "Everything I needed to know about life I learned on a motorcycle".

DanAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20666162.post-1146076411753749142006-04-26T11:33:00.000-07:002006-04-26T11:33:00.000-07:00Dan,Your reference to Suzy's accident and the "fin...Dan,

Your reference to Suzy's accident and the "finger of God" reminds me of how fragile and vulnerable we are not only on the road but in life. You touch on everything in this post---freedom, aging, acceptance, death, and learning. All part of living.

I like to think that riding releases some part of us that makes us willing to look at these things.

steveSteve Williamshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04540977884513559091noreply@blogger.com
