It would be great for running local errands. Not sure if I want to do the 180 mile round trip. It would certainly add new dimensions, as you stated.

Haven't had a chance to run the link yet. I have a cable connection so it should work well when I do.

Dick,
Honored to have you over here. Gary's been the main man but I'm content to fly formation with him.

DanAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20666162.post-1153665436537152002006-07-23T07:37:00.000-07:002006-07-23T07:37:00.000-07:00Just starting to read your blog after spending all...Just starting to read your blog after spending all winter with Gary and his Baron. I really enjoy pictures of harley's better but both of you have good perspectives on the two wheeled life. I am going to enjoy reading both of you. Ride on!!!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20666162.post-1153574195957080742006-07-22T06:16:00.000-07:002006-07-22T06:16:00.000-07:00Dan,You should see if you can "borrow" someone's s...Dan,

You should see if you can "borrow" someone's scooter or take one for a test ride from a dealer. They are sweet. Even the little ones offer something that Sophie won't.

And as Gary indicates, they can be hot rodded. I'm not sure what kind of connection speed you have but if you have DSL, cable or something, check out this youTube link:

http://www.youtube.com/
watch?v=Y4PdXqy_IeI

If you can't find it just search for "scooter race". It is the 3rd or 4th in the list--"transAM vs scooter race"

Ride to Work Day was good here. Lots of bikes on the road. Hot and sunny so the chrome and polish guys were out. Saw lots of shirtless riders with no helmets. I'm still riding with the heavy overpants that I ride with in winter. I really should get some mesh pants....

steveSteve Williamshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04540977884513559091noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20666162.post-1153569008371270612006-07-22T04:50:00.000-07:002006-07-22T04:50:00.000-07:00P.S.It really IS 4:45 AM my time. We may have to make other arrangements depending. It is supposed to be 105 again today. Yesterday it was 104 at my office. It reached 108 further out the Gorge at The Dalles.

Dan

DanAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20666162.post-1153568837616197202006-07-22T04:47:00.000-07:002006-07-22T04:47:00.000-07:00gary,Do you mean the "All Nascar, All The Time" ch...gary,
Do you mean the "All Nascar, All The Time" channel? You say "don't read my blog or you'll get hooked". You know dang good and well I'll read it. Seriously, I have been a lot more aware of scooters, lately. When I walk by a parked one I always stop to check it out.

Might not be long before one gets "adopted" into the family.

DanAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20666162.post-1153560732466270892006-07-22T02:32:00.000-07:002006-07-22T02:32:00.000-07:00As you may have read somewhere, RTW day was a bust...As you may have read somewhere, RTW day was a bust where I live. It rained, and that is something the casual rider just won't tolerate around here. Especially the chrome-polish commandos.

Ah, the Big Race at Laguna Seca... and we just cut down our cable TV service to save money. No more Speed TV (aka NASCAR channel) for me. Guess I'll have to put down the remote, and go for a ride instead.

So Dan, have you done any more thinking about scooters lately? I have my very own Baron now, and it's gonna be a wicked little hotrod. Don't read my blog, or you might get hooked...

Ride well,
=gc=Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
