We find scooter riders are just as dedicated and fanatic as motorcycle riders. And some of them who live in cold climates are especially committed to wearing the right gear so they can continue to ride in winter. Guess you made Andrew a deserving celebrity. Hope he gets a new job soon.Heinz N Frenchiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06073147068648793624noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20666162.post-34609884919380533982008-12-11T05:03:00.000-08:002008-12-11T05:03:00.000-08:00EvolutioN,By all means, please do. I think we'd be staggered by how much affect more experienced riders have on newer riders. That's where most new riders look to for advice, good or bad.

Mr. Fasthair,
It sounded like Andrew had no intent of getting a bigger bike.

I would recommend our ART class. It is somewhere around a hundred and fifty, I think. The schedule for next year is still being formed. Pricing will be posted then. I don't think the cost will go up for next season. Thank you, my ego is suitably boosted sky high!

Here's the url for the ART

http://teamoregon.orst.edu/TO_Web/art.html

Krysta,
Be careful out there. People should be really happy to see you, huh? Isn't there room in the back of the truck for a bike? You know, for quick rides on the lunch break? :)

Dean W,
Small world. How did you know it was Andrew's "famous" Ruckus, by the way?

Doug C,
My son Clinton mentioned that thing, too. He says it looks like the bike is squirting fluid. Actually, I'm riding before the class gets on the track. We put cones and flags out to mark apexes. Of course, the apex is set for riding counter-clockwise. I'm riding the other direction.

What you see is the wire on the apex flag. Interesting question!

Take care,

Danirondadhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17821323482397075170noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20666162.post-49016182181316494782008-12-09T06:22:00.000-08:002008-12-09T06:22:00.000-08:00The bigger the heart the more room for passion. In your blog header photo, in the corner of the turn, is that a marker flag, a blade of grass, or perhaps a curb feeler sticking off of the side of Elvira? ;-)Doug Chttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16314291929364463623noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20666162.post-79752916899723375702008-12-08T14:09:00.000-08:002008-12-08T14:09:00.000-08:00I was in downtown Salem today and saw Andrew's sco...I was in downtown Salem today and saw Andrew's scooter. I wouldn't have been out on 2 wheels, but there he went! (Didn't really want to be out on 4 wheels, either.)

I'm temporarily a professional cager (oh, the horror!) - delivering for FedEx for the holidays - and I was having enough 'fun' keeping my 4 wheels going where I wanted, since we were having a "winter weather event" accompanied by about 5" of snow.

We're supposed to get hit again Tuesday.
Oh, joy. <-- sarcasmKrysta in MKEhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07101287869577972478noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20666162.post-7322462137376732992008-12-06T14:41:00.000-08:002008-12-06T14:41:00.000-08:00Mr. Irondad: Did Andrew give you any idea of if he...Mr. Irondad: Did Andrew give you any idea of if he would like to get a motorcycle someday? 6,000 miles on a scooter is impressive, that’s more miles then some of the people I know around here who have had their bike for years. Way to go Andrew! Keep it up young man. Your little Ruckus is a nicer scooter then the one my cousin owns.

Speaking of class. I went to the Team Oregon site the other day. I didn’t see any mention of the cost of the class. Did I miss it? How much does the class cost? Which course would you recommend for a rider such as me? I know this is going to sound crazy but, I’ve toyed with the idea of taking my vacation out your way next year just to take a class taught by you. And you’re welcome for the ego boost :)

fasthairfasthairhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16578895011107651084noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20666162.post-38966500475402223822008-12-05T15:00:00.000-08:002008-12-05T15:00:00.000-08:00It's the same in our scooter group. Serious riders with serious gear. to tell you the truth I have been shamed into wearing my Riding jacket, riding pants, gloves and Icon boots when we go on rides even on the warmest days just to re-inforce my supervisory tendencies. I suppose it's a good thing to impart safety towards the newer riders through your actions.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05258612401956399482noreply@blogger.com
