Featuring.....You!

I'm going to be tied up for the rest of today and tomorrow manning a trade show booth. It will most be likely Friday before I post again. Then, Friday afternoon, it's off to Portland. My weekend will be two long days doing instructor training.

In the meantime, here's an invitation.

No matter how incredibly fascinating I may be, once in a while it would be nice to have a break, wouldn't it? That's where you come in.

I'd like to feature a guest here and there. This blog is particularly about using a bike for everyday transportation which includes riding to work. It would be great if you rode to work at least once in a while. That won't be mandatory, though. If you're reading this blog then your bike is more than just a show piece. That works for this situation.

If you'd like to share your story please let me know. I know there's some of you that are newer riders. You could share your training experiences, what's helped you advance your skills, why you started riding, etc. If you've been riding longer we'd love to hear your story, too. That's one of the neat things about riding. It acts as a catalyst that blends diverse personalities, experience levels, and occupations, among other things.

A picture of you and your bike would be great. There's some of you closer to me and I'd be happy to swing by with Sophie and take your photo. You can also share your own pictures. I can help with writing or we can just let it roll as you write it. It just seems like it would be fun to open it up a little, as it were.

Send me an e-mail expressing your interest and we'll work it out from there. I set up an account specifically for this. Any e-mail addresses or contact information you send will be held in strictest confidence. The only thing that will be revealed is what you ok for sharing in the blog posts.

Think it over and send me a note at intrepidcommuter@comcast.net Operators are standing by!

Miles and smiles,

Dan

Hello Dan,
Sorry I didnt reply to your comment of my comment of some weeks ago... My country is Denmark although I am not Danish my nationality is English.

Dan, I am impressed by your blog I really enjoy reading it. I am contrary to my earlier mail commuting on a bike again (fairweather mainly) the ride for me to work now is short 25 minutes tops, if itwould be interesting to hear some anecdotes from A Danish motorcyclist then maybe I could write somthing. I would write over maybe a week or two then you could split it up as necessary! I would rather not agree to a time frame as I know myself a bit too well!!

Keep up the good writing and thanks for it.
Regards Martin

Trade shows, ugh! Very hard on the feet, standing most of the day and speaking with prospective buyers or perhaps past clients. been there, done that, and when it's all over you have to ask yourself, was it worth it?

Mind in many situations this is the only way your company gets to meet
possible new clients at a central location. Trust it went well. And to that end instructing this coming weekend although standing 'round
is much of the course, it allows you to do some walking andresting now and then. And unlike employment for bread on the table
it gives you employment of a different sort.

As to your blogging suggestion, I don't yet qualify. The Goldwing is in the shop waiting for some difficult to obtain parts coming
from the uK in the next week or so.

Will I ride again? Suspect so, the specialists today gave me an all clear to do so, with the caveat to not overdo the riding for the first few weeks. Guess my daily exercise
program and three mile morning quick walk has helped.

Dru,
Several folks have expressed an interest in writing. Sounds like we're on the way!

Martin,
Thanks for offering. I'll send further comments to you as I reply to your e-mail.

Bryce,
This particular trade show is one of the best for contacts. Still long days standing on cement, though. Glad to hear you may be riding again soon!

Take care,
Dan
